R. Stroh is Taken by Death Service Friday
Richard Stroh, 76, passed away on Monday night at a Fremont Hospital, where he had been a patient since July 26. He had
been ill but a short time, and failed to rally from surgery earlier in the day.
Born March 14, 1887 at Scribner, he had spent his entire life in this community. He learned the butcher trade from his father, Adolph Stroh, and continued in the same business until his retirement in 1958. Their speciality was their family recipes for sausage and meat products, which found ready market over the area.
On June 6, 1909 he married Francis Ann Lammers, who preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1950.
He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Carlson of Hooper; a son, Marlyn of Fremont; four grandchildren, and one brother, Henry of Missoula, Mont.
The services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Redeemer Church, with the Rev. G. Van Boening conducting the service. Interment will be in the Hooper Cemetery with Wollmer & Warne in charge.
The body will lie in state at the Wollmer and Warne Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
NOTE: It says above that he had 2 children but he actually had 3 children. His oldest daughter, Little Marjory Darleen Stroh, born July 6, 1916 and passed away May 17, 1923 from Diphtheria.
