Mrs. Carpenter was a nursing home resident for the past 10 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church here.
She was a member and past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star No. 72 in Walnut Grove. She was a 50-year member of the order.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Miss Mary Carpenter; step-son, Harry; and sister, Mrs. Goldie Turner.
Burial Tuesday, in Greenlawn Cemetery, in Walnut Grove.
