GRASS FLAT WOMAN'S INJURIES PROVE FATAL
Mrs. Jane Coudriet Bergey, well known and highly respected, passed away at the home of her son, Alex Bergey, in Grass Flat, on Monday, November 10, 1919, as the result of injuries received when she fell down a flight of stairs in the home a day or two before.
Mrs. Bergey was a daughter of the late Francis Coudriet, one of the first settlers in the Frenchville region, and spent about all her life in that neighborhood.
The deceased was a consistent christian woman and a devout member of the Catholic church. She was in the 77 th year of her age. Her husband preceded her in death some twenty years ago.
She leaves a family of 7 children to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted mother as follows: Frank, of Frenchville; Mrs. Justin Guenot, of Karthaus; Mrs. Joseph Royer, of Keewaydin; Alex, of Grass Flat; Mrs. John Fontenoy, of Surveyor; Mrs. John Fontenoy and Mrs. Raymond Rolley, of Clearfield. She is also survived by thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral was held at St. Mary's Catholic church Frenchville on Thursday morning, Nov. 13th at 9 o'clock, Rev. Father Renehan celebrating a requiem high mass. Interment in the family plot in Frenchville cemetery.
