OCONTO - Mrs. Mollie Hassenfelt, 89, a former Oconto resident, died this morning at the Tudor Oaks Health Center in Hales Corners.
The former Mollie Spice was born here March 22, 1894. She had resided in Oconto until 1976 when she moved to Milwaukee. She was married to Ernest Hassenfelt here June 11, 1913. He died previously.
Mrs. Hassenfelt had worked at the Oddfellows Home in Green Bay for five years and was past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge here, past assembly president and served as staff captain for 15 years. She also was a member of the County Line Grange, First Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Patriach Militant.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dolly Nelson of Wauwatosa; a son, Harold of West Jefferson, N.C., five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A brother and eight sisters died previously.
Friends may call at the Gallagher-Pinkart Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. and then at the church Saturday from 11 am. until 2 p.m., when services will be held there. The Rev. John Lyford will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
