Robert B. Votaw married Verana Coblentz on 21 Jun 1866. They had 7 children: Ida M., Laura, Harry Ellison, Emma A., George E., Louis Slusser, and Garfield Arthur.

Robert B. Votaw served in the Civil War. He enlisted on 18 Sep 1862 in Company H of the 115th Ohio Infantry. He was mustered out on 22 Jun 1865.

Died at the Infirmary
Robert Votaw, aged 69 years, died at the county infirmary Tuesday night. He was taken to the infirmary from Barberton about two weeks ago and had been delirious almost all of the time since his removal there. He was an old soldier and had a son living in Akron.

The funeral of R. B. Votaw, who died at the county infirmary Wednesday, was held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial in Glendale cemetery.
