Goldie M. Snyder, 97, Watsontown, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville, where she had been residing since April.

Born Dec. 23, 1914, in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Ocie (Egli) Beaver. She was married to Wilbur M. "Web" Snyder on Dec. 28, 1933, and they shared 66 years of marriage until his death Oct. 30, 2000.

She was a graduate of Montgomery High School and assisted her husband as the secretary and bookkeeper at Snyder's Tractor and Auto Service, a business they began on Feb. 7, 1947, now operated by their son, Don as Snyder's Equipment, Inc., in rural Watsontown.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and traveled extensively throughout North America. She especially loved fishing trips to Canada with her family.

She was a life-time active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Watsontown.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald B. and Sherry Snyder, Muncy and Carl E. and Betty Snyder, Watsontown; eight grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband, was a son, Gary Snyder on Jan. 9, 1997; two brothers, Alfred and Herbert "Honey" Beaver; and a sister, Elizabeth "Peg" Garret.

Friends are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jill Seagle, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.

The family suggests contributions in her memory be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
