Alfred Dickey was born on July 15, 1903, in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma Indian Territory to Dr. John Henry Dorsett Dickey (1869-1952) and to the former Rosa Estella Bonnell (1869–1925). He married Cleda Collins (1903–1997) on April 20, 1925, in Winfield, Kansas. Cleda was born October 13, 1902, in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma Indian Territory.
Alfred and Cleda divorced in 1945, then he married Myrtle Blanche Carey (1899–1983). Alfred was 5'7" tall and had brown hair and eyes, a slender build, an olive complexion, and dimples, while Cleda was 5'6* tall and had fair skin, light hair, and a slender build. She worked as a telephone operator and a saleslady.
Alfred worked for Fairmont Foods of Omaha for 45 years as a plant foreman. He retired in 1963 following a severe heart attack. He had surgery for a hernia and during the operation, they discovered he had lung cancer. He became a semi-invalid until his death on January 1, 1969. He is buried at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma. Alfred was a member of the Methodist Church and the International Organization of Odd Fellows.
