Frederick Wilhelm Burger was a powerfully strong man. People would wager on what he could lift and I was told he always won. He wagered on whether or not he could lift a railroad car--don't have specifics. I was told he won the wager but suffered a hernia as a result. The subsequent hernia surgery went well but he fell out of bed during the night at the hospital and bled to death.
First wife is Sophia Crews/Kruse, mother of Paul Albert, Adelaide Margaret, Edwin Robert, and Dorothy Olga. They also had two sons, Arthur and Arnold, that died as young children.
Second wife is Pauline Wilhelmina Butterbrodt, mother of Herman Julius, Louise Marie, John Ludwig, Simon Alfred (and twin Steven Arthur). Frederick is also stepfather to Pauline's daughter, Caroline.

Gravesite Details
Obit is incorrect. Olga Burger Brown of Montana and Louise Marie Burger Biorn/Byron of Lincoln are his daughters. Austin is not a son; Alfred had a twin brother, Steven Arthur, who died as an infant.
