Catherine Elizabeth "Lizzie" Moretz Icenhour was the daughter of John Moretz, Jr. and Nancy Jane Miller Moretz. She grew up in Watauga County, NC and married John Arthur Icenhour on September 12, 1893. They had ten children: Maggie, Roy, Grady, Lonzo, David, Laura, Robert, Marvin (died young), Ray and Haskel.

At least two of Lizzie's siblings also moved from Watauga County to Johnson County: Kirby Smith Moretz (b. 1870 d. 1952)(also buried at Shouns Methodist Church); and Jefferson Davis Moretz (b. May 19, 1861 d. Nov. 21, 1930) (exact burial location in Shouns, TN unconfirmed).

Note: Descendants of John and Lizzie held a memorial service on September 24, 2000 to dedicate a new headstone.
