Peggy was born Dec. 3, 1930 in Norris City, the daughter of William Clyde and Mabel Eva (Henson) Edmonds. She married Carl William Walden Jr. on July 30, 1962, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2002. Peggy had worked as a caretaker for the United States Department of Interior, National Park Service.
She was a member of Norris City General Baptist Church.
Peggy is survived by a daughter, Carla Joyce Hendrix of Modesto, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Naomi Edmonds of Nashville, Ill.; three nieces, Debbie Galles of Centralia, and Lora Rombough and Jamie Edmonds, both of Nashville, Ill.; a nephew, Chad Edmonds of Nashville, Ill.; a former sister-in-law, Emma Edmonds of Nashville, Ill.; and two grandsons, Joey and John Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ronald Dale Walden ; and a brother, Clyde Dean Edmonds.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Norris City.
Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
