Donald was born in Marion, Indiana on April 13, 1965 to Arnold "Bud and Bonnie (Sharp) Love, Sr. He married Deanna May Marley on June 28, 1986, and she survives. Donald was a carpenter and had worked for Reynolds/Layne Construction for 30 years. He was an avid horseman, won numerous awards at nationwide shows and was in the top 5 in the nation for barrel racing. He was very dedicated to his family and loved spending time on his computer and tinkering on his tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Love, Marion; daughter, Ashley Amanda Love, Marion; parents, Arnold "Bud" and Bonnie Love, Sr.; brother, Arnold Ray "Arnie" Love, Marion; sister, DorLisa Kay "Lisa" (Benny Harris) Love, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Everett Love.
