Elaine Preston Whitmill of Perryville died March 16 at Harford Memorial Hospital. She was 72.
Mrs. Whitmill was born Dec. 13, 1927, to the late Ernest R. Preston and Ella Johnson Preston. She was a homemaker and attended Principio United Methodist Church in Perryville. Mrs. Whitmill was an honorary life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Fire Company of Perryville and a former chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Aiken Homemakers and the Golden Age Club of Perryville.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lyle Edwin Whitmill, in 1993 and two brothers, Roland E. Preston in 1981 and Lloyd T. Preston in 1966.

A viewing was held Sunday and Monday at Patterson Funeral Home in Perryville. Funeral services were held Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michelle Loving-Moore of Principio United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in St. Mark's Cemetery in Perryville
