Joe L. Hallmark

Funeral services were held Thursday for Joe L. Hallmark, 75, in the East Side Baptist church, with interment following in the Denton Creek cemetery. He died Wednesday at his home in East Gonzales.

In charge of the services were Rev. Rogers and Rev. Jenkins. The choir directed by Claude O'Neal, sang "The Old Rugged Cross," which Mr. Hallmark played so much on his violin, "I need Thee Every Hour," and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus." At the cemetery prayer was followed by "In the Garden." A number of out of town people attended the funeral.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie; three daughters, Mrs. Corine Allen and Mrs. Aubrey Cooksey of Gonzales and Mrs. Barney Seims of San Antonio; five sons, D. H. of Corpus Christi, Maynard of Cistern, C. S. of San Antonio, William of Gonzales and Pvt. David W. of Camp Hood; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pall bearers were: Irving Forgotston, Ed Logan, Gibson Nesbett, John Steubing, Claude Bowers, Spencer Mackey.
