HARLINGEN, TX.- Richard ''Andy' Arnold Anderson, Sr., 85, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012. He was born on April 5, 1926 in San Perlita, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfard Anderson and Ella Pyle and brothers, Walter, Omar, Lee, Jim and sisters, Avis, Opal, Goldie and Pearl. Richard is survived by his wife, Florence of 63 years and his children, Richard Anderson, Jr. (Lisa) and Cathy Cryer (Pat); grandchildren, Patrick (Eren), and Kevin (Dawn); great grandchildren, Madelynn Camille, Blake, Dustin and Jonah Patrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard entered the Navy in 1943 and retired in 1966, serving during World War II, Korea and the Vietnam era. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post of Harlingen.

Graveside services only will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Full Military Honor's being conducted by the American Legion Post #205 in Harlingen.
