Nancy Manning was the daughter of Richard Manning, Nash County, North Carolina. Her mother is unknown. Richard wrote his will in 1794, but his wife must have been deceased for she is not mentioned. In this same will, Richard does, however, mention, his "beloved mother" Sarah Hatfield and his children: Samuel Manning, Thomas Manning, Michal Manning, James Manning, Phereby Pope and Nancy Manning.

Nancy Manning (age 16)and Meredith Reddick Rose (age 21) were married in 1799 and had the following children:
William R. Rose b. 1800
Temperance Rose b. 1801
Richard Michael Rose b. 1802

Nancy died about 1841. Meredith Reddick Rose married for the second time to Lucy Clayton, Feb 7, 1842.
