SHREVEPORT, LA. – Services for Edward James Preble, Jr., 53, 6453 Dianne will be at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday September 23 at the Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel, V.A. Hospital Chaplains Lowell Todd and Floyd Durham, officiating. Burial: Jewella Cemetery.

He died at the V.A. Hospital on September 21 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Preble was born in Caddo Parish, La. and was a life-long resident of Shreveport, where he was employed as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II, a member of D.A.V. and of The Rats, a member of the V.F.W. and of the Military Order of the Cooties.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Preble, Shreveport, La.; one son, E. J. Preble, Bossier City, La.; one step-son, Barry File, Shreveport, La.; four daughters, Patricia Hutchinson, Catherine Sizemore, Frances Johnson, and Mary Zeller, all four of Bossier City, La.; two step-daughters, Jackie Dupont, Shreveport, La. and Gloria Reno, Haughton, La.; two sisters, Geraldine Cook, Soso, Ms. and Martha Cheatwood, Bossier City, La.; and 15 grandchildren.

A D.A.V. Chapter will serve as pallbearers.
