Salisbury- J Hodge Krider, ex-sheriff of Rowan County, dropped dead at his home in Salisbury early this morning from heart failure. He was called for breakfast and, when he failed to appear, was found dead in his bed. He was 52 years old and is survived by one son, Deputy Sheriff James Krider, of this city, and seven daughters, also one brother and two sisters. His family is prominent in Rowan County. The funeral takes place Saturday afternoon with Masonic honors.
