OBITUARY :
ROBERT WILLIAM "ROBBIE" PHILLIPS, 60, of Ridgeley, West Virginia, died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland.

Born November 15, 1946 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late John W. Phillips, Sr. and Nettie Renner Phillips.

He was a 1964 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

He was employed with PEPCO for eighteen years retiring in 1998. He was previously employed with the Hagerstown City Police.

He attended Assembly of God Churches in Cumberland, Maryland.

He was a member of the FOE Aerie # 245 Cumberland, FOE Aerie #2307 Parkersburg, West Virginia, FOE Aerie #1136 Brunswick, Maryland, the Sons of American Legion Post # 13 Cumberland and the Moose Lodge # 713 of Cumberland. He previously volunteered with the Community Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife, Maryon Steele Phillips of thirty-three years; five daughters, Colleen Shindledecker and husband, Tony, of Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania, Colette Barlup and husband, Kenny of Zullinger, Pennsylvania, Courtnay Sahaydak and husband, Troy of Funkstown, Carla Phillips and significant other Richard Smith of Frederick, Maryland and Paula Burger of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one son, Robert Phillips of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one brother, John W. Phillips, Jr. and wife, Jeanie of Boonsboro, Maryland; six granddaughters, three grandsons and twin great grandsons, several nieces, nephews and his beloved Charro.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dave Phillips and one grandson and one granddaughter, one nephew.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Charles Donivan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
