==========

Charles August Holst, 63, was found dead Tuesday afternoon [Feb. 21,1967] on the floor of his Lafayette apartment by his landlady, who had stopped by to remind him of a doctor's appointment. Death was ruled a suicide. He had numerous bouts of illness in recent years and had been despondent over his ill-health, survivors told Dr. William M. Sholty, Tippecanoe County coroner, who pronounced the suicide. Born at Stockwell, he came to Lafayette in 1930 and had resided here since.

Mr. Holst had been employed by Alcoa Aluminum Co. for 25 years, most recently as an inspector in the tube mill. He had been home for about a week due to illness. Prior to working at Alcoa, he had worked for Alton Box Board Company. He was a member of Aluminum Workers International Union, Local 115.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Perry Zollars of rural Lafayette, Mrs. Lee Bartholomew of Stockwell, and Mrs. Gladys Denny of Glendale, CA; one brother, Clarence E. Holst, also of Glendale, CA; also several nieces and nephews.
