GOODLAND -- Bernice Taggart, 104, died Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born March 28, 1904, in White City to Thomas and Margaret Torgeson. She attended business college in Topeka and worked there for 18 years until 1941, when she married Thomas Taggart and moved to Goodland. She worked in the Register of Deeds office, the Department of Social Welfare, Teeters Abstract, and in her husband's law office. Preceded in death: husband, Thomas; two brothers; six sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Survivors: nieces and nephews. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. today at Bateman Funeral Home, Goodland. Graveside services: 11 a.m. MT Wednesday in Goodland Cemetery, Goodland. Memorials: United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
