Services for Alice Brown, 90, of Milam County will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Pastor John D. Stanislaw of First Baptist Church in Coleman officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 in Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

A lifelong Milam County resident, she was born Feb. 8, 1921, in the Duncan community of Milam County to John and Rosa (Eiland) Drummond.

She married Joe Brown on May 18, 1938, at Sharp Presbyterian Church in Sharp.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, wife, mom and grandma.

She was a member of New Salem Home Demonstration Club and Sunshine & Shadow Quilting Club, both of Rockdale.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

She was a member of Tracy Methodist Church in the Tracy community, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Harry and Dan Drummond; three sisters, Effie Koke, Ruth Young and Bessie Young; and a grandson, Robert Anderson.

Survivors are her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a great- great- grandchild, and two sisters-in-law.
