Mr. John Dana Gibbs, 65, of Sheffield, died Friday, March 12, 2004. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at the funeral home chapel, with Ralton McCarley officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. He was a native of Sims, Ark. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Gibbs; his mother, Eva Gibbs; and his son, John Dana. He is survived by his wife, Willie Jean Gibbs, of Sheffield; son, Donald Gibbs and wife, Paula, of Sheffield; daughter, Brenda White and husband, Carl, of Tuscumbia; brother, Zane Gibbs and wife, Debbie, of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Shirlene Mitchell, of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Chris Gibbs, Christy Gibbs, Justin White and Jamie White; seven nephews and 12 nieces. Special thanks to Dr. Guy, Susan Barnett, of Southern Care Hospice, and his sitter, Kitty Trollie. Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
