MRS ARHIBALD DIED ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

SHE HAD BEEN SICK FOR NEARLY THREE MONTHS

HAD BROTHER IN RANDOLPH

Survived by six children – A mother who will be missed in Her Home, and as a neighbor among Her acquaintances-Funeral on Tuesday.
Steamburg, Feb.4.—Mrs. Josephine Mattison Archibald died at her home here Sunday forenoon, February 1st after an illness covering it period of nearly three months. It was then that the members of her family realized  that the life of one who was the light of the large family circle was in jeopardy, and everything known to medical science was resorted to, but without avail.
Josephine M. Archibald was born in Salamanca 58 years ago; when but a small child she with her parents moved to the town of Elko; after her marriage with Andrew Archibald of Steamburg in 1879, she made Steamburg her home. The soul of a good and loving wife and mother was called from this earth when this woman of so many sweet and womanly graces received its summons. The shock of her death came as a crushing blow to the husband and family whose lives were so wrapped up in her. There were eleven children born to this union: Mrs. Kate Geer, Mrs. Helen Mays, Frank and Andrew Archibald of Oil City, Pa.; Ernest and William Archibald of Steamburg, and five children died some time ago. There were also three grandchildren; and two brothers Frank Mattison of Randolph, and Waldo Mattison of Fredonia. The funeral was held Tuesday [Feb 3] at 1 o'clock at the house, and burial was made in the Bunker Hill cemetery.
