John Wesley Sinclair who suddenly passed away Sept. 14,1939, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 14 days at Oakwood Texas. He was born Nov. 10, 1869, in Newton County, Mississippi and came to Texas at 10 years of age. He was married to Miss Callie McCaskill in 1896 at Nineveh Texas. With his companion he united with the Methodist Church in 1901. To this union seven children were born. An infant passed away. In 1910 the wife and mother passed away in Anglesworth Oklahoma. A daughter, Coleta was called away in 1918 at the age of 14. He had a life full of trial and trouble, but was always the true and faithful father, and for almost 30 years filling the part of loving, kind and patient mother as well. He was an honest, upright citizen, dealing with his fellowman. He leaves to mourn his passing five children, Mrs. Lola West, Lillian and Leon "Bud" of Oakwood. Mrs. Allie Burleson and Mrs. Mayme Keils of Buffalo. Nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four sisters. From a local newspaper clipping.
