Born on October 25, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Norburt J. and Vera Mae (nee Spencer) Fountain, Sr., Lela was a member of the Stow Alliance Fellowship Church. She devoted her life to raising her family, working on the family farm, and as a press operator at Nymold in Garrettsville, Ohio. Lela was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Olive Chapter #53 in Kent.
Survivors include her husband of six years, Robert J. Ringler of Kent; sons, Norburt (Beth) Lowder of Cuyahoga Falls, MSgt. William (Kathy) Lowder currently serving in the US Air Force in Naples, Italy; grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Shannon, and Michael Lowder; sisters, Eunice Taylor of Hiram, Thelma (Robert) Schwan of Garrettsville; step-daughters, Lucille (James) Gaffney, Roberta (Tony) Vallad, Chaplin Major Judy Hamrick, Donna J. (James) Whitacre, Diane (Wayne) Alford; also survived by many nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece and friend, Lela Kay Crabtree. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elva Lowder; infant daughter, Joyce Lowder; and her brother, Norburt Fountain, Jr.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, OH, with OES services at 5 P.M. Friends may also call one hour prior to the 11 A.M. funeral service officiated by Pastor John Cervone and Pastor John Ryan on Thursday at the Stow Alliance Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
