* C. Dave Applteon, 45, 725 College Ave., Wooster, died Sunday in Wooster Community Hospital. He was born July 2, 1932, in Mt. Vernon & moved to Wooster in 1970.

He was the division office coordinator for Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation & had been an employee of the company for 26 years. He had been a member of the Ohio National Guard for 291/2 years before retiring in 1976 & was active in the Elks Lodges in Mt. Vernon & Wooster.

Mr. Appleton is survived by his wife, Margaret Blubaugh Appleton; 3 sons, James, Big Prairie, Ohio, John & Robert, both of Columbus; 1 daughter, Mary Margaret, of the home; 1 grandson; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Appleton, Mt. Vernon; & 1 brother, William, St. Charles, MO.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McIntire Funeral Home in Wooster where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lewis Metzger officiating & interment in Calvary Cemetery.
