Samuel Kilian, 85, died Thursday, May 5, at Russell Regional Hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1902, at Dorrance to Justus and Elizabeth (Ehrlich) Kilian. He married Alma Mai July 8, 1926, in russell. She survives. He was a lifelong resident of the Russell area. He was a farmer and for more than 40 years an electrician. He was a member of the Russell City Volunteer Fire Dept. for 30 years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.

Survivors are his wife, Alma, of the home; three sons, Don, Bill and Dennis, all of Russell; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Dumler, of Gt. Bend; and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Walker, of Russell; two brothers, Carl and John, both of Russell; two sisters, Martha Schuh, of San Diego, CA; and Sarah Short, of Russell; 16 grandchildren; and 13 gt. grandchildren.

Funeral Monday at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, Russell with Rev. Robert Lundgren officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
