Margaret D. Marvel, aged 94 years, of Newark, DE passed away on Monday March 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Margaret was the daughter of the late Levin and Etha (Wallace) Derrickson.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald E. Marvel, Sr. and sons; Donald E. Marvel, Jr. and Richard A. Marvel, Sr.
Margaret is survived by her son; John B. Marvel, Sr. (Charlene) , daughters; Shirley J. Candeloro (Tony), Margaret E. Yeatman (Al) and Joan L. Perry (Herb), daughter in law; Janice Marvel, brother; Donald A. Derrickson (Nancy), sister; Mary L. Bond (Roger), 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, March 9 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, where family and friends may visit from 11 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn, DE.
Margaret's family would like to express their appreciation to the entire staff of Little Sisters of the Poor for the loving, compassionate care provided to their mother.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Margaret to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
