DENISON - Leon Taylor, 85, of Denison died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Medical Center of Plano. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with visitation from 5 -7 p.m. Sunday, both at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, Alice G. Taylor of Denison; sons, Everett Taylor of Bells, James M. Taylor of Dallas; sister, Freda Langford of Pampa; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

DENISON – Leon "PePa" Taylor, 85, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Medical Center of Plano, Texas.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation from 5 - 7 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic rites will be performed by the Billie Mosse Lodge #1152. Pallbearers will be Everett Taylor, Jr., Levi Carter Murphy, Dudley Barden, Gary Hillis, Doug Hannickel and Richard Almaguer.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore, Okla.

Leon was born September 24, 1926 in Greenwood, Texas, the son of Charley G. Taylor and Iva Lela Jones Taylor. He married Alice G. Murphy in Pampa, Texas on May 11, 1958. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church; a truck driver for Walton Transportation; owned and operated a Dairy Queen and Watsonburger in Tishomingo, Okla.; served in the Navy during World War II on the USS L.S.T. 119 and served in the Korean War in the Army.

He is survived by wife Alice of Denison; sons Everett Taylor and wife Hilda of Bells, Texas, James M. Taylor of Dallas, Texas; sister Freda Langford of Pampa, Texas; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
