Jesse Alexander McPherson was the son of John Lloyd McPherson and Margaret Ann "Minervia" Givens. He was married to Elizabeth Elmore "Bessie" Hamilton.

To this union were born: George Lloyd McPherson 1908-1981 and Margaret McPherson 1910-1994.

He was the brother to: Lottie Bannon McPherson, Myrtle Janette McPherson, Margaret Lee McPherson, Albany Jane McPherson, Arthur Alvin McPherson, Sarah Louetta McPherson, Flora Mae McPherson, Lloyd Clarence McPherson and Carmel Givens McPherson.

Jessie was killed at US Highway 40 when Oil Truck went out of control.
