Wade Barron, 61, of 305 Cleburne St., the building inspector for the city of Fayetteville, died Saturday.

Barron was born December 9, 1911 at St. Paul, the son of Walter G. and Sarah Lewis Barron. he owned and operated Barron's General Merchandise store at Elkins from September 1942 to June 1955, then accepted a post with the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission.

He remained with the commission until 1969 and took a job as property inspector for Fayetteville in 1970. He was later promoted to building inspector. He was a member of Sequoyah United Methodist Church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Lela Barron; a son, Pat Phillip Barron of Huntington, California; a brother, Hollis of Rogers, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Cannon of Jonesboro and Mrs. Maxine Maptison of Washington, D.C. and two grandchildren.

Funeral service held at Nelson's Funeral Home chapel with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
