William Eddy was one of ten sons of Joshua Eddy and his wife Hannah Stevens of MA.

In RI in 1756, William married young widow Hadasah(nee Sprague) Angell.
They had six known children.
In 1788 the RI land of William Eddy and his wife Hadasah was sold and by 1790 census records shows them living in Otsego County NY.
William and Hadasah died in Otsego County in the early 1800s and were buried in the family cemetery near their home.
