Edwin Russell Alcock, 82, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at a local hospital. Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend David Turner. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Edwin was born May 24, 1929 in Clifford, VA to Russell Lowell and Bessie (Mays) Alcock. He served our country in the United States Army. He married Alice Lee Brown September 6, 1953 in York, SC and together they raised two daughters. He was a brick layer for W.P. Howle and helped brick the home he and Alice shared. Edwin was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church and Faith Masonic Lodge 1158. He was also a member of the Arrowhead Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department. His family remembers him as a good father and grandfather.

Mr. Alcock is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Caroline Alcock.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Alice Alcock; devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Reggie King, Wanda and Michael Remington all of Wichita Falls; sisters, Elizabeth Parsons of Newport News, VA, Mildred Jester of Mechanicsville, VA, Anne Richardson of Lynchburg, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Betty Alcock of Lynchburg, VA, Robert and Liz Alcock of Amherst VA; brother-in-law and wife, Wilfred and Martha Brown; four grandchildren and spouses, Jeffrey King, Jonathan King, Brian and Jordan Terrell, Ricky and Tracey Terrell; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

If desired, memorials may be made to Arrowhead Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department.
