Charter Member of the Knights of Pythias, Lodge 17. Odd Fellows Member. Farmer. He left Dover, Kentucky to Fayette, Indiana and established a tannery and sadlery. Sold that in 1848. He was Orange Postmaster. He had a dry goods and hardware in Columbus, Indiana. He was a Provost Marshall.

His parents are Peyton Randolph and Judith Nelson Keith.
