Rebecca L Schweitzer McHenry, age 56, of Joliet, formerly of New Lenox, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Joliet. She is survived by her children; Jessie (Michael) Skwarek of Woodridge, Angie (Benny) Lobo of Chicago, and Marty McHenry of Joliet, five grandchildren; Ryan, Madie, Ellie, Sophie, and Izzy, her parents, Leroy and Lorena Schweitzer of Manteno, two brothers; Randy (Jodie) Schweitzer of Manhattan and Bob (Lori) Schweitzer of Coal City, four sisters; Genny (Tom) Turechek of CO, Nita (Gary) Adams of Bloomington, Fran (Joe) Paluga of Elwood, and Linda (Daryl) Wieland of VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her maternal and fraternal grandparents. Becky was a graduate of Lincoln-Way and Illinois State University with her teaching degree and later her Masters degree. She lived in Manhattan for a number of years before moving to New Lenox. She taught at many area schools including St. Joseph, Manhattan, St. Jude, New Lenox, St. Raymond, Joliet, and Washington Academy. Becky was an inspiring, adoring and trusted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and teacher to many that she touched throughout her life. Funeral service for Rebecca will be 9:15A.M., Saturday, March 10, 2012 from Forsythe Funeral Home Manhattan, to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 West 2nd Ave., New Lenox for 10:00A.M., Mass of Christian Burial.
