NEW BLOOMFIELD - Lawrence Franklin Burd, 87, 200 High St., died Wednesday in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was an ordaine minister, a retired farmer and a member of Market Street United Methodist Church, Newport.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha S. Burd; five sons, Denton B., Camp Hill, Charles E., Newport, Kenneth F., Hummelstown and Galyn L., and Leroy M., both of Mechanicsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Charles F. Gamber, Duncannon, Mrs. Raymond E. Sterner, Shermans Dale, Mrs. Glenn A. Kline, Newport; a sister, Carrie R., Duncannon; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Myers Funeral Home, Walnut Street, Newport. The Rev. Paul W. Kauffman will officiate, assisted by the Revs, D. Perry Bucke, Larry Burd, T. V. Miller and Thomas Rudy. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
