Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Homer H. and Morene Pritchett Ausburn. He was a certified Ford mechanic. Mr. Ausburn was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and the Jim Tumlin Sunday School Class.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Randall Ausburn, Jr.; one daughter,Traci Cantu; three sisters, Maxie Smith, Sybil Phillips, Elaine Duncan; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Ausburn was predeceased by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Grace Ausburn; three brothers, Ralph Ausburn,Charles Ausburn,Edward Ausburn; and one sister, Patsy Ann Ausburn.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Mt Airy Baptist Church, with Reverend Keith Shorter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Baptist Church Cemetery.
