Additional information was taken from U.S. Census enumerations for 1880 (with spouse and child in Jackson County, Georgia,) 1900 (with spouse child in Mill, Madison, Georgia,) and 1910 (with spouse in Commerce, Jackson, Georgia;) and Georgia Death Certificate Number 8575, J. I. Ray, informant.
Another contributor has suggested that Mattie's middle name was "Eula." No sources were provided, and I can find no records in which she used her middle name.
