Laura is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Clear and her husband, Kenneth of Lignum and her son Steven, and his wife, Deborah of Illinois. She is also survived by two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her faithful husband of 59 years, James Raymond Downs, Jr.
Laura was a lady with many fine qualities. She and her husband were foster parents to many
young children over the years. As she approached the age of 40, she made the decision to go to
Nursing school and became an LPN. She worked at Prince William Hospital and later worked for many
years at Oak Springs Nursing Home in Warrenton.
She was also a farmer's wife and homemaker. Most of all she was a dedicated wife and loving grandmother. She loved her pets and especially her dachshund, Doc.
Laura will be laid to rest next to her husband at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas VA on
Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 pm at a graveside service with Rev. Mark Cook officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1254, Culpeper, VA 22701 in Laura's name. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.
