'Slim' Garrison, 88 DOVER - Gamaliel Ephriam "Slim" Garrison, 88, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Milford Center Genesis Health Care. Mr. Garrison formerly lived at 582 Acorn Lane, Dover, also know as Feather Wood. He was born in Cheswold, on Jan. 1, 1923, to the late Roland E. and Clara Viola Hoffecker Garrison. Mr. Garrison was a cabinet maker and had owned and operated, The Del-Craft Cabinet Company, doing construction of custom cabinet work for homes and industry. He taught cabinet making at Vocational Tech Center, both at Woodside and North Dover locations. He held a full degree in vocational education in teaching. He and his late wife, Mary Rosier Garrison, operated Garrison's Olde English Donut Shop at Rehoboth Beach for 23 years at #8 Rehoboth Ave. They were married in 1942 and married for 64 years, coming from Ohio to work on the Garrison farm. He was a member of Peoples United Church of Christ of Dover. His four sons survive him, Thomas R. Garrison and his wife Elaine of Smyrna, George R. Garrison of Delmar, Charles G. Garrison and his wife Efser of Dover, and Marke Garrison and his wife Heidi of Harrington; a daughter, Florence M. Garrison of Dover; two brothers, George T. Garrison of Dover, and Elbert W. Garrison and his wife Jean of Cave Creek, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Wilson of Dover; ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Cheswold. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donation to the SPCA of Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent to [email protected] or www.delmarvaobits.com.
