Mr. Lewis was born July 26, 1920 in Stanley, La. and entered into rest on July 17, 2006 in Shreveport. La. He was employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass as a Glazing Superintendant for thirty years, he retired in 1975. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Masonic Lodge #403 since 1952, and a charter member of The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Inc., and Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby Lewis, his daughter, Carolyn Yevonne Lewis, and brothers, Leroy, Hugh, Willard, Porter, Glen, and Donald Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gladys DeFriend Lewis; two daughters, Bonnie K. Lewis Jones and husband Ronnie of Shreveport, La., and Martha Eugenia Lewis Ballard and husband Randy of Waskom, Tx.; one son, Barry Eugene Lewis and wife Melissa of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Ruth Lewis Cunningham of Logansport, La.; five grandchildren, Alicia Cobb, Billy Lewis and wife Kim, Troy Jones, Lacey Jones, Martha Caroline Ballard; four great-grandchildren, Devin Cobb, Tyler Lewis, Cameron Cobb, Morgan Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
