PANHANDLE — Ava Hale, 82 of Panhandle, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, in Panhandle.

Funeral services will be
2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Panhandle
with Rev. Buddy Payne officiating, and Rev. Lewis Holland of Miami assisting. Interment will follow at Panhandle
Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Ava was born June 14, 1929, in Gray County to Oscar and Vera Lee Morehead. On February 15, 1952, she
married Shirley Hale in Canadian, Texas, and had been a Panhandle resident since 1957. Prior to Panhandle, she lived in Amarillo, Miami,
Perryton, and Canadian.

Ava was a member of Panhandle First United Methodist Church, cashier for First National Bank in Canadian, Amarillo National Bank, First National Bank in Panhandle, church secretary at her church, bookkeeper at the Panhandle CO-OP, UMW at the Methodist Church, and
a member of the Dianthus club.

Survivors include her husband, Shirley; two daughters, Susie Dwight and husband Dan of Pampa, Sandra Graham and husband Don of Roscoe; a brother, Charles Morehead and wife Judy of Lake Tanglewood; three grandchildren, Tina Sims and husband Brandon of Borger, Lisa Shepherd and husband Tyler of Little Elm, Cody Graham of Canyon; two great-grandchildren, Addyson Sims of Borger and Hayden
Shepherd of Little Elm.

Ava Lee Hale was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Walton, and Glen Morehead; two sisters, Mildrend Cole and Virginia Whipple.
