Obituary
Victor Lee Crowder died peacefully after a brief illness on Monday February 27, 2012, at the age of 87. He was born on February 15, 1925, in Ventura and lived in Ojai most of his life.
Victor retired from the United States Army in 1963 and was a World War II Veteran. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army he returned to citrus ranching. He was a lifelong member of the Ojai American Legion Post #4821, the VFW and the 23rd Infantry Association. Victor loved to work in his yard and was especially talented at raising orchids.
Victor was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Grayce Wheeler Johnson Crowder and his parents Lucy B. and John Crowder. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Dorothy Crowder of Olympia, WA. nieces; Traci Crowder and husband Ian of Olympia, WA., Tammi Pitzen and husband John of Colorado Springs, Co, Linda Cremer and husband Clancey of San Bernardino, Judy Sorrenson of Florida; nephew John Crowder of Olympia, WA.; grand-nephew James Pitzen of Colorado Springs, CO.
A graveside service was held Tuesday March 6, 2012, 1:00 PM at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo, with The Reverend Jonathan Mulford officiating.
