GAINESBORO - Funeral services for Mary Nell Dudney Hix, 95, of Gainesboro will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, May 5, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on May 6 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hix died on Monday, May 4, 1998, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1902, in Jackson County to the late Mack and Bell Jenkins Dudney. Mrs. Hix was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was also a resident of the Columbus Hill Community of Jackson County.

Her family includes three sons, Eugene Hix of Detroit, Mich., Joe and Charles Hix, both of Gainesboro; three daughters, Ann Thompson of Sterling Heights, Mich., Inez Bremer of Cookeville, and Elizabeth Hooten of Nashville; two sisters, Agnes Hall of Cookeville and Rhoda Denson of Gainesboro; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hix, who died on April 24, 1992, and whom she married on July 15, 1923.
