Alan H. Grue, of Madison, passed away at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born in New Ulm, MN, the son of Roy and Gertrude (Paul) Grue. Alan graduated from Marshall High School, in Marshall, Minn., in 1962. He grew up in the family business of baking. He married Anita Schrupp on April 8, 1967. In 1975, Alan and Anita moved to St. Peter, where they opened up their own bakery. From 1987 until 1995, he taught as an instructor in the culinary arts department at Indian Hills College. After moving to Oconomowoc, he worked at the Bread Fountain Bakery in Waukesha from 1995 until 2001. They then moved back to Minnesota, where Alan also worked as a baker from 2001 until 2006. In 2006, the family moved to Madison where Alan worked for Carl's Cakes until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, painting, long arm quilting, mechanical embroidery, playing on his Mac computers, and spending time with his family and friends. Alan is survived by his wife of 44 years, two daughters, grandchildren, brother, sister, many nieces and nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sue Ellen Kazemi.
