Funeral services for John Gilbert Elkins, 76, who died at his home Friday, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home by the Rev. E. T. Showalter, with burial in the family cemetery.
Mr. Elkins, son of the late John W. and Elizabeth Thornton Elkins,had spent his entire life in Pulaski county and, with the exception of a very short period, in Hiwassie
district. He had been a member of the New Salem Christian church for the past 50 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Asenith Farmer,whom he married on September 10, 1889; the following children,Robert Elkinp, Grayson Klkins,Mrs. L. M. O'Dell, Mrs. S. S. Cole and Miss Fannie Klkins, all of Hiwassie; Charlie Elkins, of Marion, and Walter Elkins, of Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. Tilden
Thornton, of Orchard, W. Va., and Mrs. William Nance, of Narrows;one brother, Hayes Elkins, of Hiwassie. Pallbearers: John, Herman, Shirley and Rudolph Elkins, H. H.
Farmer and Earl Owens. Honorary pall bears: G. C. Hall,
E. F. Allison, B. T. Harkrader,Clnude Crawford, Wysor Smith,
