Samuel Shelby Cole, 86, of Route 1, Hiwassee. died late
Sunday night in the Pulaski Community Hospital. A retired farmer, he had been vice-president of the Pulaski-Giles Mutual Insurance Compapy for 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Born in Pulaski County, Aug. 7,1890, he was the son of the late William R. Cole and Frances
Bocock Cole. Surviving are his widow, Bessie Elkins Cole; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Staples of Hiwassee, and two granddaughters. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C.E. Mannon officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in Pulaski County. Visiting will be today at Stevens with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m.
