She had complained about not feeling well for several weeks. Last evening she took her husband his supper from their home in Rouzerville and was stricken critically ill a short time after arriving.
Mrs. Garner was born at Mercersburg the daughter of Harry and Amanda Daywalt Brinkley. Her early life was lived at Mercersburg and following her marriage she and her husband farmed at Marion and in 1932 moved to Willow Hill. Two years ago they resided in Chambersburg and following purchase of the meat market a year ago moved to Rouzerville.
She attended the Church of God at Mercersburg and Fayetteville.
Surviving are her husband and these children: Mrs. Garnet Shatzer, Fannettsburg; Mrs. William Bryan, Chambersburg Route 3, Mrs. Ray North, Richmond Furnace; Mrs. David Gelsner, Paul, Frank and Joseph, all of Fannettsburg; Charles, Chambersburg; Robert, Mercersburg, James, Greencastle and Harry Glenn, at home. Twenty-eight grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Brinkley, Cavetown; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Harrison, Cavetown; Mrs. Alvey Toms, Hagerstown; Mrs. Frank Lee, Atlantic City, also survive.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Mount Pleasant Church of God, Mercersburg Route 2, in charge of Rev. Alfred W. Jones. Interment will be in Dry Run Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the Grove Funeral Home and at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service, Friday.
