Melissa was Solomon's second wife. His first was her aunt, Betsy Barber, with whom he went west to Scipio NY. Betsy died, and Solomon came home with their baby, Samantha. Fortunately, he found Melissa, who became mother to Samantha, and their own 11 children. She lived to be 92. :CLA
