Spencer Lavern "Plum" Vanlandingham, age 80, of Montross, died on Monday, June 7, 2004. He was a retired butcher for Blue and Gray Supermarket, a member of Bethany Church and Westmoreland Lodge #212, AF&AM, Kinsale.
Survivng are his wife, Dorothy W. Vanlandingham, two sons, Michael L. Vanlandingham and his wife LaNieve of Warsaw, and Thomas S. Vanlandingham and his wife Deborah of Montross, and adaughter, Lori V. Pagekow and her husband Thomas of Montross; three grandchildren, Justin Valandingham, Rachel and Paul Pagekow ; a brother, John C. Vanlandingham, both of Lottsburg. Plum was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie V. Minor.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, at Bethany Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Reverend Kori Kiss officiated.
A Masonic Memorial service was held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, at the Montross Chapel of the Welch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Justin Vanlandingham, Todd Vanlandingham, Kirk Vanlandingham, Johnny Dixon, Bobby Dixon, Jerry Dixon, Paul Gladwell and Bob Myers.
